REVO In-Car DAB Digital Radio WINS "Car Accessory of the Year" AWARD

18th May 2005

Following a glittering ceremony at Birmingham's Botanical Gardens, the REVO In-Car DAB Digital Radio fought off a host of competitors to pick up the prestigious "Accessory of the Year" award at the annual Auto Express Product Honours Awards 2005.

The awards, the automotive aftermarket's 'Oscars', was hosted by Ginny Buckley, presenter of the BBC's Holiday 2005 programme.

The Auto Express Award for Accessory of the Year recognises " the most significant new product in the world of car accessories ."

In awarding REVO this accolade, Auto Express said " It's a brilliant solution, and one that opens up new possibilities for in-car entertainment. "

On receiving the award, Revo Digital's Managing Director David Baxter said " We're absolutely thrilled, it's a tribute to the creativity and hard work of everyone who worked on the project. Revo was designed and developed entirely in the UK, which is unusual these days, and it's nice to see that a small company with a big idea can still compete in a world dominated by large international manufacturers. "

The REVO In-Car DAB Digital Radio will be featured in a special awards issue of Auto Express, to be published on the 18 th of May 2005.

AWARD No. 2 - REVO Receives Top Trade Award

The Auto Express award follows hot-on-the-heels of the "Best Audio Newcomer" award received from Car Audio Retailer magazine in March 2005. C.A.R is the leading trade publication serving the UK's car audio market.

What is REVO ?

Revo is the revolutionary new DAB radio product that brings the world of digital radio to where you want it most, your car.

Unlike its rivals, Revo's complementary design allows it to be used in conjunction with your existing audio system rather than in place of it.

And there's more... add the optional home and mobile kits and Revo becomes the centre of your digital radio world; the only DAB radio you will ever need.

REVO is unique; unlike its rivals it can be installed in any type of vehicle, irrespective of whether it has a DIN size aperture in the centre console or not.

Revo Digital's Managing Director David Baxter explains the reasoning behind the creation of REVO: " The DAB Digital Radio market has long been crying out for an in-car digital radio product that can be used in any make and model of car. The current batch of car stereo sized DAB radios conform to the outmoded DIN size chassis standard and simply can't be installed into the majority of new and used cars, where non-standard size integrated audio systems are now the norm. REVO will finally open up the world of DAB Digital Radio to the majority of the UK's motoring public. "

The REVO In-Car DAB Digital Radio is priced at £99.95 including Vat.

A nationwide fitting service is available, with standard installation costing only £49.95 inc. Vat.

REVO is available from all good car audio retailers.

What is DAB Digital Radio?

DAB Digital radio is a new transmission system that brings all the benefits of digital technology to the world of radio.

DAB stands for Digital Audio Broadcasting, and it is truly revolutionising the way we listen to radio today. Traditional analogue frequency spectrums such as FM and AM have become overcrowded, leaving no space for new stations.

Digital broadcasting is different; it allows the available space to be used more efficiently, allowing broadcasters to more than double the amount of stations, and even develop ways of sending data and multi-media signals to your radio.

DAB is a digital technology and as such has many advantages over traditional analogue broadcasting.

Crystal Clear, Interference Free Listening - DAB Digital Radio sounds great! It doesn't suffer from the usual effects of interference caused by adverse weather conditions or electrical interference; with DAB digital radio what you get is more robust reception and pure, clear high quality sound. No more hiss, crackle, pop or fade, just great radio.

More Stations, More Choice - There are currently over 160 different DAB digital radio stations in the UK. There are stations for people who like sport, talk radio, comedy, dance music, rock, hip-hop, classical, alternative, world music, garage, jazz, big band, pop, country, soul, disco, oldies and R&B.

Improved Ease of Use - With a DAB Digital Radio there are no frequencies to find. Simply choose the station you want by name, from the radio's LCD screen and it's there at the touch of a button. No more frequencies to search through or remember.

No More Re-Tuning - Unlike conventional analogue stations, national digital radio stations are broadcast on the same frequency across the country. That means that there is no need to re-tune while on the move. Simply choose a national station and you won't have to touch the dial again, even if you're journey is from one end of the country to the other.

More Information - All DAB digital radios have an LCD display on which you will often see messages about the station or music to which you're listening. Many stations transmit the name of the artist, the title of the song and other pieces of information including news headlines, sports results, competition details and web addresses etc.
