I recently purchased a Revo Pico RadioStation for my English-born wife who enjoys British radio on the computer from our home in Australia. Looking for a more pragmatic alternative I decided on the compact Pico unit for its impressive specification, great design, and portability potential.

As this model had not reached our shores, I ordered the radio direct from Revo Technologies (Scotland). Product Manager Jonathan Gilchrist was extremely helpful, and delivery was about a week.

The Pico is a wonderfully small package accommodating all that a modern wireless should be. It receives our local FM and digital networks but comes into its own by hauling in the world of WiFi internet radio. The portability factor is a personal hit adding “The Archers” to our Australian summer al fresco dining experiences at home.

Congratulations Revo to your team of product designers and all involved in the development of this fine radio. I am sure there will be upgrades but for the moment I cannot think of an area of performance where this unit can be improved.

I have a Pico wifi radio and wanted to let you know it's had more impact as an entertainment device than my Sky+ or iPhone.

I live and work in Moscow most of the time and brought one out here only because listening via my laptop was patchy and slowed the computer down.

I was stunned at how reliable the Pico was. And the high-quality of the sound output. I listen thought my TV surround sound at home and the quality (for the music stations) is incredible. Even when internet surfing gets a bit patchy, the Pico rarely loses it (requiring rebuffering).

Unlike most computer equipment, this was again a breath of fresh air. Despite being very computer-literate, what always grates on me on hardware and software is when it promises to be 'easy-to-use' or 'plug-and-go' before while expecting users to go through ridiculous set-up programmes and knowing about DNS servers, ports and such like. The Pico really did plug and go. Apart from obviously demanding my wifi router password, it absolutely did as promised.

In fact, I've decided that I probably won't renew my DAB radios back home in the UK. I'll just get more Picos. They don't quit. They give me more variety than I'll ever need.

I can't praise this box enough. It's made living away from home bearable. It's made the world a comfortably-small place.

Oh, and it's a good-looking little box as well - subtle, not too knobby and easily hidden when necessary.

We live 6 months down here in Akaroa and the other half of the year in Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

We bought our Pico in Guernsey earlier this year to bring to NZ, so that we can carry on listening to all the BBC Radio stations (and occasionally we were listening into More FM and other NZ stations when were in Guernsey in your winter/our summer!).

However, we are so impressed with the Pico that we are intending to leave this one down here and buy a second one for our Guernsey home, as the quality of the Wi-Fi is much better than ordinary FM radio signals in Guernsey, and the "Listen Again" feature is brilliant, as well as the ability to carry the Pico around the house and into the garden. A truly brilliant bit of kit and of the same excellent quality of (say) Apple products (I am an avid Mac fan!)

A short e-mail to say how impressed Sharon and I are with our new Blik. It really is very good and by far the best-sounding and highly featured internet radio available today.

For us, the clear sound and sleep function are absolutely essential and the Blik performs very well. I am sure that the other ex pats in the Languedoc will love the model (particularly the price!). Nothing better than waking up to Jim Naughtie (in my case) or that other Scot, Ken what's-his-name on Radio 2 (for our friends).

Chose this as we were looking for a DAB radio that wouldn't collect grease in the kitchen. The box design of the Pico means there are no knobs and ridges that make some radios a nightmare to keep clean. The built in battery is much better than messing with batteries, I haven't timed it yet but 8 hours seems about right. When the sound begins to fade just plug it in and carry on listening while it re-charges itself. One worry was the small speaker but the sound quality is fine. Have had no problems with reception. Plugged it into the computer to transfer music to the memory card and found that it will only take MP3 files not Windows WAV. Had to download a programme to convert the files. But WAV files didn't need converting when played direct from my I-River player through the M Port. Overall well pleased with a very well designed and well built radio and player.
